Thai herbal heat compress is used in combination with traditional Thai massage. Sore muscles are worked and stretched and then herbal heat compresses are applied to help soothing of sore muscles. The herbal heat compress relaxes aching muscles, eases respiration through the use of aromatic camphor, and reduces tension through the heat and aromatic properties of the herbs used in the compress. Traditional Thai medicine uses herbal heat compression for
the treatment of sprains, muscle pain, bruises and swelling.
Traditional Thai medicine also uses herbal heat compresses in postnatal care treatment to help reduce swelling, drain wastes from the body, help soothe sore muscles and promote general health, while recovering from pregnancy.
The herbal ingredients may be mixed for specific needs, but there are base ingredients such as:

Camphor (Pim-sen): promotes a calming influence, eases respiration, reduces tension
Lemongrass (Ta-krai): stimulates digestion, antiseptic, treats skin infections
